Laura’s Green Resource Guide
A note from Laura Seydel...
There’s a Native American Proverb that says, “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” This sentiment has never been more accurate than it is at this point in our history. With climate change becoming an alarming reality, and air and water pollution reaching all time highs, it’s crucial that we start to recognize the direct connection between the Earth’s health and the health of all whom inhabit it. My husband, Rutherford, and I fight for environmental causes because we want our children to understand and appreciate this connection. We want them to inherit a healthy, livable planet. The more we educate ourselves about our natural resources, the more difficult it becomes to ignore the impact that human behavior has on our environment. The key to empowerment is education. I encourage you to get involved in your communities, stay on top of your local politicians (vote!), help identify environmental issues and find ways to solve them. Make your voices heard and educate your children and others around you. By making the environment a priority in our life, we can leave the Earth a better place for our children.
